Get set for break-fast?

             For years we have heard that eat break fast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. But alas, all hopes for this three meal diet have been broken with the new concepts of 6 meals a day. These 6 mini meals really don't leave much option for you to eat like a prince but it certainly helps you to continue with a healthy breakfast routine. It also allows the breakfast to become the heaviest meal of the day.
 
The word breakfast has been derived from the words 'break' and 'fast'. After dinner, breakfast is the only meal which you have after a period of almost 10 to 12 hours. During that time the body is deprived of all kinds of foods and nutrition. Hence breakfast is the most important meal of the day and going to work without breakfast is very similar to driving the car without any gasoline. The body cannot function at its best without replenishing its energy and hence it is necessary to break your 'fast' and start eating.
 
Dieticians usually recommend that breakfast should not be a complicated and elaborate meal but should include essential nutrients to replenish the body. Those who are not used to eating soon after waking up can also carry their breakfast with them. But those who work out in the morning should have this meal within half an hour after the work out is over. At this time the body can burn this food easily due to the metabolism rate still being high.
 
Studies reveal that healthy breakfast eaters lose weight faster than others and a healthy breakfast also ensures that you eat light at lunch. Those who eat healthy breakfast are also more alert, perform better and are active through out the day. Your breakfast should consist of fruits or fruit juices, cereals, eggs or similar form of protein along with any form of high fiber food. This will ensure that your stomach remains full for a longer time but the calories absorbed by the body are less and can be burned easily.
